Can demons try to come back after being cast out?

After demons are cast out from a person, THEY CAN TRY TO COME BACK TO THE PERSON so as to try to enter the person again. But there is evidence to suggest that this would NOT NECESSARILY have to happen, and even if they try to come back there may be evidence to suggest that they could not be able to enter someone again unconditionally.

You can find the evidence for that below:

Demons coming out of a person can try to come back to that person

When a demon is cast out of a person, it is possible that it can try to come back to the person (so as to try to enter the person again), as Jesus said: "When the unclean spirit DEPARTS FROM THE PERSON, it-goes-through waterless places seeking rest. And not finding (it), then it-says, ‘I-WILL-RETURN TO MY HOUSE FROM WHERE I-CAME-OUT’. AND HAVING-COME, IT-FINDS (IT) having-been-swept and put-in-order. Then it-proceeds, and takes along seven other spirits more evil (than) itself. AND HAVING-GONE-IN, they-dwell there. And the last (state of) THAT PERSON becomes worse (than) the first”" (Luke 11:24-26).

Demons would not necessarily try to come back to the person

When Jesus cast out a demon from a boy, He said: "Mute and deaf spirit, I command you — come out-of him and ENTER INTO HIM NO-LONGER" (Mark 9:25) and "it-came-out" (Mark 9:26).

Jesus commanded the demon in the boy to "ENTER INTO HIM NO-LONGER" (Mark 9:25). There was no account recording that this demon tried to come back to the boy. It may be inferred from this that demons may not necessarily try to come back to the person.

Demons are able to enter people, but they are not necessarily inside people. Indeed, they can also be outside of people. Furthermore, they can also try to enter other people instead.

If demons try to come back to the person, they may not necessarily be able to enter the person again

If demons try to come back to the person they came out from, there might be evidence to suggest that they may not be able to necessarily enter the person unconditionally.

Testimonies around the world can be found of people who report having a demon cast out of them, and in the next few days after that they started experiencing spiritual warfare, but after resisting that they noticed that the demons would have ultimately fled away as they kept their freedom as well. These people simply would not have met the conditions for which a demon could be able to enter someone, and so that demon could not enter them again.

What if a demon tries to come back, and also manages to enter the person again?

If a demon manages to enter again the person that they left, it is possible for the last state of that person to be worse than before they were delivered the first time, as Jesus for example indicated that a demon could take other more evil spirits with it when entering the person, as Jesus said: "When the unclean spirit departs from the person, it-goes-through waterless places seeking rest. And not finding (it), then it-says, ‘I-will-return to my house from where I-came-out’. And having-come, it-finds (it) having-been-swept and put-in-order. Then it-proceeds, and TAKES ALONG SEVEN OTHER SPIRITS MORE EVIL (THAN) ITSELFAND HAVING-GONE-IN, they-dwell there. And THE LAST (STATE OF) THAT PERSON BECOMES WORSE (THAN) THE FIRST" (Luke 11:24-26).

Even if "SEVEN OTHER SPIRITS" (Luke 11:26) would enter a person who already had a demon cast out of them previously, leaving that person in a worse state, there could still be hope to believe that the person could still be delivered even from a bad state like this. For example, three chapters earlier in Luke it is written about "Mary, the (one) being-called Magdalene, FROM WHOM SEVEN DEMONS HAD-COME-OUT" (Luke 8:2). There is also the account in that same chapter in Luke of a man in a very bad state, "having DEMONS. And (for a) considerable time he-did not put-on (a) garment, and was not staying in (a) house, but in the tombs" (Luke 8:27), who when asked how many demons were in him, the answer was "LEGION”, because MANY DEMONS ENTERED INTO HIM" (Luke 8:30). Yet the man was still able to have all those demons cast out of him, as it is then written about "THE DEMONS, HAVING-COME-OUT from the man" (Luke 8:33) and as a result they "found the man from whom the demons went-out sitting — having-been-clothed, and being-sound-minded" (Luke 8:35).

If demons were to re-enter a person "THE LAST (STATE OF) THAT PERSON BECOMES WORSE (THAN) THE FIRST" (Luke 11:26). Apart from having a WORSE state than before, someone can still do different things to find out if there is really a renewed need for demons to be cast out.
