Furthermore, it is possible in principle that a demon may manifest in someone, and then stop manifesting at some point to attempt to give the impression that it came out (while still actually remaining in the person). 

Demons also do not unconditionally come out of people. If certain conditions are not properly met, but people mistakenly believe that they did meet them, then it may lead to mistakenly assume that the demons came out as a result (which would not be the case).
