Faith can be expected from someone asking for a demon to be cast out
BEFORE a demon can be CAST OUT from people in the Bible, mentions can be found of people's FAITH, implying also that it could be expected from them. The FAITH of the person asking for a demon to be cast out can especially be mentioned.
Evidences:
Jesus noticed that her "FAITH (is) great" (Matthew 15:28) and so we learn that her daughter was then delivered. The parallel account in Mark is interesting as it links DIRECTLY the mother's statement of FAITH with her daughter being delivered, as it is recorded that the woman said "even the little dogs under the table eat from the crumbs (of) the children!” And He-said (to) her, “BECAUSE-OF this statement, go — the demon HAS-GONE-OUT of your daughter”" (Mark 7:28-29). Jesus said that "BECAUSE-OF this statement" (Mark 7:28-29) that she just made, she could go, indicating that the demon HAS GONE OUT of her daughter.
In these two examples, the FAITH of a mother before her daughter's deliverance is mentioned, and the FAITH of a father before his son's deliverance is mentioned. These were mentioned regarding children, about whom we may suppose that they did not have FAITH for themselves yet. Could FAITH be expected from an adult?
Casting out demons can be considered as a miracle, and faith can be required to receive a miracle:

Casting out demons can be considered a miracle
Faith can be required from someone for a miracle to be received.
For example, it is written: "(Did) then the (One) supplying you the Spirit and working miracles among you (do it) because-of works (of the) Law, or because-of (the) hearing (of) faith? Just-as Abraham “believed God and it-was-credited (to) him for righteousness”, know then that the (ones) of faith — these are (the) sons (of) Abraham." (Galatians 3:5-7).
The One "working miracles" (Galatians 3:5) did it "because-of (the) hearing (of) faith" (Galatians 3:5) from "the (ones) of faith" (Galatians 3:7). The word "because-of" (Galatians 3:5) seems to suggest that it was the reason for why the miracles were being worked, and could also imply a requirement for the miracles to be worked in that case.
