2 Corinthians 6:16 - No agreement for the temple of God with idols?
Does 2 Corinthians 6:16 object to the need for deliverance for those who have been believers in the past?
2 Corinthians 6:16: "And what agreement (is there for the) TEMPLE (of) GOD with IDOLS? For you are (the) TEMPLE (of the) living GOD, just-as God said, that “I-will-dwell in them, and I-will-walk-among (them), and I-will-be their God, and they will-be My people”."
Deliverance for believers?
It is written: "what agreement (is there for the) TEMPLE (of) GOD with IDOLS? For you are (the) TEMPLE (of the) living GOD" (2 Corinthians 6:16).
Could this mean that it would be impossible for "IDOLS" (2 Corinthians 6:16) to ever find themselves in the "TEMPLE (of) GOD" (2 Corinthians 6:16), and so imply that unclean spirits would also never find themselves in the "TEMPLE (of the) living GOD" (2 Corinthians 6:16), which "you are" (2 Corinthians 6:16)?
Under the old covenant, foreign gods and idols could sometimes be found in the "TEMPLE (of) GOD" (2 Corinthians 6:16), and so they needed to be removed, as for example "Manasseh" (2 Chronicles 33:13) "removed the foreign gods and the carved [image] out of [the] HOUSE of the LORD" (2 Chronicles 33:15).
The "HOUSE of the LORD" (2 Chronicles 33:15) would be the "TEMPLE (of) GOD" (2 Corinthians 6:16), as for example it is written that Jesus threw robbers out of the temple, and then referred to the temple as the HOUSE of the LORD, as it is written: "Jesus entered into the temple. And He-threw-out all the (ones) selling and buying in the temple" (Matthew 21:12), "And He-says (to) them, “It-has-been-written: ‘My HOUSE shall-be-called (a) HOUSE (of) prayer’. But you are-making it (a) den (of) robbers”." (Matthew 21:13). Jesus was referring to Isaiah 56, where "My HOUSE" is the HOUSE belonging to the LORD, as it is written: "My HOUSE will be called a HOUSE of prayer for all the nations, says the LORD" (Isaiah 56:7-8).
