1 Corinthians 6:19-20 - You were bought?
Does 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 object to the need for deliverance for those who have been believers in the past?
1 Corinthians 6:19: "Or do-you-know not that your body is (the) temple (of) the Holy Spirit in you, Whom you-have from God? And you-are not your (own),"
1 Corinthians 6:20: "for you-were-bought (with a) price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's."
Deliverance for believers?
It is written "(to) the church (of) God being in Corinth" (1 Corinthians 1:2): "you-are not your (own), for you-were-bought (with a) price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
If your body is not your own, but it belongs to God Who bought you, would this imply that you could never be demonized?
The Greek word for "TO-BE-DEMONIZED" (daimonizomai 1139 in Greek, verb) comes from the middle voice of the Greek word for "demon" (daimón 1142 in Greek, noun). It should not be translated as "to-be-demon-possessed" because the Greek word does not include the word "possessed".
It is written that someone who is "DEMONIZED" can have a demon that entered them, as for example: "(a) certain man from the city met (Him), having demons" (Luke 8:27), "many demons entered into him" (Luke 8:30), "the demons, having-come-out from the man, entered into the pigs" (Luke 8:33), "the (one) HAVING-BEEN-DEMONIZED was-restored" (Luke 8:36).
If a person has a demon, it would not necessarily imply that the demon owns the person, but simply that the person has a demon inside of their body that would need to be cast out.
In the case of an unbeliever, their body would not be "God's" (1 Corinthians 6:20), and so a demon may consider their body as its own HOUSE, as it is written: "when the unclean spirit departs from the person, it-goes through waterless places seeking rest, and does not find (it). Then it-says, ‘I-will-return to MY HOUSE from-where I-came-out’" (Matthew 12:43-44).
In the case of a believer, their body would be "God's" (1 Corinthians 6:20), and so a demon could not consider their body as its own HOUSE, and therefore could not claim any right of ownership over a believer's body.
